Man Made Music is a unique bi-coastal music production company and Sonic Brand consultancy with an extraordinary team of young music and sound design talent, well-known composers, music supervisors, programmers, club DJ’s, musicologists and brand strategists.

Man Made’s central philosophy is that great music and sound have one core, unshakable goal: making strong emotional connections with the audience. It’s about passion. Making people really feel something.

We see our job as very similar to that of an actor who seeks to embody a role.  Great actors lose themselves in the characters they play to the point where you can barely see the actor at all.  They are the character.  The right music is the same.  It should so fully embody the unique feeling and voice of the story that you have no idea who created it.

When it comes to sound, he has a vision.

An eighteen–year veteran of music for media, Joel is the Founder and President of Man Made Music, a music company dedicated to harnessing the emotional power of sound and music to tell great stories and build brands.

An NYU graduate, Beckerman started his career at a publishing demo studio as producer, arranger, sound designer and performer, while playing in numerous New York bands. Soon he began writing music for general market advertisers and working on award-winning campaigns for top marketers like Nike, Pepsi, Mercedes, United Airlines, Lipton and many others. In 1995 founded the broadcast division of Red House Music, before creating Man Made in 1998.

In less than ten years, his team has won over twenty international awards and worked on hundreds of projects. Throughout his career Beckerman has collaborated with many industry heavyweights. He has produced soundtracks with Hollywood composers such as John Williams, James Horner and Don Davis. In addition Beckerman has collaborated with many distinguished performing artists such as John Rzeznik, Ice-T, Blues Explosion and John Legend.
